Outlook: Dobson knew it had to generate some offense after getting blanked in Week 1 by Basha. The Mustangs responded, putting together a strong ground game and three long TD plays from quarterback Cody Lewis to Eric Henkel and Neil Treffers in pounding Cesar Chavez.
Two games have shown evidence of vast improvement on the offensive and defensive lines of the Mustangs. A team that gave up more than 35 points a game last season has allowed just 10 per game to date. Yuma was able to move the ball more last week against Camelback than the week before vs. St. Mary’s. Quarterback Josh Hall has thrown for 301 yards and running back Robert Diaz has rushed for 260 yards.
