The Maricopa defense struggled to stop an explosive Yuma Catholic offense, as the host Rams (1-5) fell to the Shamrocks in a 2A West Region game.

The Shamrocks backfield of Eric Martinez and Roger Ford put up big numbers.

Martinez had 14 rushes for 55 yards and four touchdowns. Ford finished with only four rushes but had 101 yards and two touchdowns. Yuma Catholic quarterback Matt Inman was 13 of 18 for 195 yards and two touchdowns.

Maricopa finally managed to get into the end zone in the fourth quarter but missed the extra point to avoid the shutout.
