Outlook: Sahuarita helped its playoff hopes last week with a come-frombehind 27-26 win over Globe.
The Mustangs stuck to the ground game despite trailing 14-0 at halftime.
“The things that they do well are things that cause us trouble and that’s be big and physical and run the ball,” Coolidge coach Carlo Hernandez said. “I love our chances against teams that utilize their speed, but teams that pound the ball and are real physical give us problems.”
The Mustangs had two rushers over 100 yards last week in Chris Brown and Tim Speers and Hernandez said his team can’t let those two get that many yards again.
However, if the Bears continue to score at the pace they have been, it won’t matter how many yards Brown and Speers get.
Coolidge is the highest-scoring team in the South Region and that status was helped by last week’s 70-12 rout of Florence.
One player who has had a big impact recently is receiver Damar White, who has three straight 100-yard receiving games.
