Junior Jalen Brown has been starting for Mountain Pointe for three years.
Friday night Brown had a career high as he hauled in four touchdown passes all on big plays of 74, 49, 55 and 47 yards.
He ended with seven catches for 251 yards, leading the Pride to a 55-35 road win over Corona del Sol.
Mountain Pointe, now 6-1, bounced back from its only defeat of the season in a 54-28 loss to Brophy last week in a battle of Division l powers.
Brown had four receptions and 193 yards by halftime.
"It was a nice win after the loss to Brophy, I think the most yards I had was 185 and two touchdowns in a game," Brown said. "I work with (quarterback Antonio Hinojosa) not only all week but on routes on the weekend, we work well together."
Brown didn't receive as much attention per usual by the opposing defense.
"If a team wants to try and cover (Brown) him one-on-one we will make them pay for it all night," Mountain Pointe coach Norris Vaughan said. "We played well in the first half and made some mistakes on kick coverage and defense in the second half."
The Pride wasted no time to set the tone as after the opening kickoff on the first play from scrimmage they pulled out the bag of tricks.
Running back Garette Craig took a pitch from quarterback Antonio Hinojosa and hit Brown for a 74-yard touchdown pass.
"We call it the quick pitch halfback pass, it got us excited and gave us some momentum early and that was big for us," Brown said.
Later in the quarter, Brown scored on a 49-yard TD aerial from Hinojosa the first of three on the night from the duo.
The Pride scored two touchdowns in each quarter. Landry Payne had a one-armed interception at the Aztecs 38-yard line. That setup a crowd pleasing 8-yard TD run by Craig who reversed directions.
Craig threw for a touchdown and ran for two as he ended with 144 yards rushing on 15 carries.
Hinojosa hit Brown, who took it 55 yards to the house as the Pride built a 28-0 lead.
The Aztecs got on the scoreboard on a Maceo Brown 19-yard run as they cut the lead to 28-6 at halftime.
Corona del Sol outscored the Pride 29-27 the rest of the way, but it was not the nightmare second half the Pride endured in the loss to Brophy.
The Aztecs battled back as Evan Kenney hit Thomas Turley for a 5-yard TD pass on the first drive of the half cutting the lead to 28-13.
Later they cut the lead to 35-20 but couldn't get closer than 15 points.
Kenney scored three touchdowns on quarterback keepers in the second half on runs of 2, 1 and 7 yards.
The Pride's Kayuan Ellis had a kick return of 70 yards, which set up a 9-yard TD run from Thomas Warren.
Hinojosa and Brown's encore came on a 47-yard pass and Craig added a 58-yard TD run. Hinojosa threw for 184 yards and three TDs.
Corona del Sol fell to 3-4 on the season as they play a brutal four-game stretch, with Chandler coming up next.
"We had lots of yards, we just gave up to many as well, if we would have been closer at half who knows," Corona coach Tom Joseph said. "We knew (MP) is not a very disciplined team and we played well in the second half, and the kids never gave up."
