Corona del Sol 11, Chandler 1 (5 innings): The Aztecs (4-1) scored five runs in the first inning and pounded out 14 hits in the win. Shawn Maloney hit two home runs and drove in five runs for the Aztecs, while Jeff Carter (3-for-4 with two doubles) and Ryan Riley (2-for-3) also had big days at the plate. Jake Martin earned the win with four innings of three-hit ball.
Seton Catholic 6, Arcadia 0: The Sentinels took advantage of three Arcadia errors in the win, and Matt Haggerty hit two home runs and drove in three runs for Seton.
Cactus Shadows 7, Notre Dame 6: Despite outhitting the Saints, Cactus Shadows made a couple errors late in the loss. Notre Dame was not on top of their game as they made a couple of key defensive errors. Notre Dame drops to 3-1 on the young season. Staring pitcher Devon DeRaad went 3-for-4 and drove in a run for the Saints, and Nick Affronti had two hits to add to his team-leading 11 RBI. Mike Stirling got the win in relief for Cactus Shadows with 2 1/3 IP, and Cactus Shadows was sparked by Cameron Ketchen and Trevor Bebee, who teamed up for four hits and four RBIs.
Softball
Perry 5, Chandler 0: Jillian Leslie tossed a complete-game shutout in the win for the Pumas against an intra-district foe. Brittany Hopper hit a home run and Taylor Aldridge had 3 RBI for Perry.
Boys Volleyball
Westwood def. Notre Dame 25-17, 25-21, 25-14: Alex Arzaga had 22 assists with Jacob Hartman and Wes Hathcock adding 7 and 10 kills, respectively for the Warriors.
