Chandler wide receiver Archie Woulard did just about everything possible to keep the Wolves’ air attack soaring against the Yuma Criminals.

Woulard caught two touchdown passes and also threw for one of his own to help in Chandler’s 42-0 homecoming victory over Yuma Friday night in the 5A nonregion game.

“If there’s such a thing as a renaissance man in football then he is it, he can do it all,” Chandler coach Jim Ewan said.

The first quarter was an offensive struggle for both teams as Chandler was the only team to earn a first down.

However, the Wolves didn’t need first downs in the second quarter, as they were able to score early on their drives.

Chandler running back Jamil Hines gave the Wolves’ offense a jump-start when he bounced off a shot from Yuma linebacker Jack Walters in the backfield and rumbled 65 of his 147 rushing yards for the game’s first touchdown.

After Chandler forced the Criminals to punt on the ensuing drive, Wolves running back Bryce Lamb took a handoff, cut back and found a seam that led him to a 45-yard touchdown run.

“Offensively we didn’t do very much in the first quarter but once we got through the second quarter and on, I was really pleased with the effort,” Ewan said.

Woulard took over the rest of the first half, first catching a 32-yard touchdown pass from Wolves quarterback Payton Lacivita and then tossing a swing pass he caught from Lacivita to Chandler tight end Dion Jordan for a 25-yard touchdown.

A 71-yard kickoff return by Yuma running back John McCormick near the end of the third quarter was the only sign of life the Criminals showed, and it didn’t result in anything but a turnover on downs.
