Wednesday Roundup: Clause, Gluck spark Gilbert win

Sarah Clause had 25 kills and Brittany Gluck added 23 digs as Gilbert defeat host Corona del Sol, 25-23, 18-25, 25-21, 25-21, Wednesday night. Sara Bowden had 15 kills and 23 digs for the Aztecs.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

In Mountain Pointe's (20-9) three-game rout of visiting Phoenix South Mountain, 25-6, 25-11, 25-10, Ashley Kastl posted 12 kills to go along with Jenna Spector's six kills. Charlea Hillman also had six kills for the Pride.

BOYS SWIMMING

Brophy took every event in its meet against visiting St. Mary's to win 150-24. Nick Ostreim won two events to lead the Broncos' charge. Ostreim took first in the 200 freestyle (1:49.47) and 100 backstroke (57.52).

GIRLS GOLF

Haliee Axelsen shot a 5-over 41 and was the individual medalist for Corona del Sol (179) as it defeated Mountain View (214) and Casa Grande (267) at Mission Royal. Tess Ferguson shot 42 for host Casa Grande.
