VX Roundup 1/4: Dobson boys basketball storms past Cibola

Dobson used a strong first quarter to cruise past visiting Cibola for 89-66 win in a Division I boys basketball game Friday.

Jaron Hopkins scored a game-high 32 points and also had seven assists and three steals for the Mustangs (12-5). Ryan Richardson added 19 points and Richard Clark finished with 10 points. Richardson also had seven assists.

Brian Nichols and Kairee Williams each had three blocks.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Campo Verde 57, Williams Field 46: Campo Verde (8-6) had three players score in double digits in its win over visiting Williams Field (7-5). Devante Walker led the way with 15 points. Spencer Mauter put in 12 and Spencer Perry added 11.

Carter Rushton led Williams Field with 14 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Mountain View 52, McClintock 11: Morgan Pennell had a season-high 14 points including three 3-pointers in the middle quarters to lead the Toros (11-5), who played without leading scorer Armani Hawkins. Sabrina Haines chipped in 13 points and Cherokee Davis added 10 points. The Toros take on Skyline on Tuesday at Mountain View H.S.

Scottsdale Christian 49, North Pointe Prep 33: Anna Long scored 36 points to lead the Eagles (3-8) to a victory over visiting North Point Prep (0-6).
