You two are fucking idiots. You both are the problem with this country: asinine idiots preaching babble that is both untrue and hateful. Democrats trying to take advantage of the deaths of these people....come on give me a break. You both are insane and I hope they pass laws assuring that your crazy asses can never obtain weapons. The only problem with your argument is that there is no "team" left. Republicans swept everything, and for the sake of this state, I hope they can work towards solving some of our problems. My prediction though is that Pearce will be allowed to do whatever he wants and drive this state into the ground. Unless of course, the republicans who truly stand for the qualities you mentioned stand up and do something. The only problem with that though is that then they will have to stand against their tea party handlers.

"Semi-socialist". That's a joke and a lie. Why did people vote straight "R" last night; because they are hurting and think that America is something different than it once was. I have to agree with Mr. Stewart and Mr. Colbert that much of this image has been created by columnists such as yourself who use fear tactics and not fact tactics to disillusion people into the false reality of a failed America. The fact that you get paid for this garbage is as disgusting as Olbermans salary.Nov 3, 2010
Here is whats truly disgusting. This article was over a specific topic: whether or not people should be allowed to wear politically charged clothing at election sites. Yet, most people on this forum have turned it into more than that by hurling politically charged insults instead. This is why our country is in the shape it is. Americans would rather destroy each other, than see ourselves for what we are: fellow citizens.
Not that it matters (as apparent by the comments made thus far) but for my take I think that politically charged clothing of any type should be banned from election sites, merely to avoid the possibility of voter intimidation. Nov 1, 2010
Objectivity in Tribune articles is obviously dead. I honestly can't believe you don't support legalizing marijuana, but on the other hand are complaining about the federal deficit. You guys really need to think about what the hell you stand for before you make these decisions, because the hypocrisy is frightening. Also you need to stop using outdated information and statistics (marijuana is a gateway drug...hahahahahahaha. I haven't heard that outdated argument since the 80's). Some of the endorsements are also a joke. "Russel Pearce has basically failed at doing anything except support his far right ideolgy, but who the hell cares, lets give him another shot." This is completely unacceptable. The only good review I saw was of the Treasurer and Secretary of State races. Regardless cancel my subscription, I'm getting the hell out of dodge. Oct 24, 2010
This appears to be a case of missing (or misinterpreted data). The truth must be uncovered regardless the outcome in my opinion though. Sep 24, 2010
While a degree certainly doesn't always equate to intelligence or job performance, I must admit I think a college degree should be required for one to be able to teach our children. I also think that teachers should be paid competitively, and much like lawyers, according to their class rank. This would ensure the best and brightest are teaching our school children. Unfortunately education reform is a long ways off and there is too much idiotic partisanship surrounding the issue on both sides of the aisle. It's a shame that people can't set aside politics when it comes to teaching future generations.Sep 15, 2010
It sounds as if you know the family of the young woman: I'm sure they are devastated (as are you from the sound of it). I know everyone involved is suffering quite extensively right now.
Regardless, people on here are making harsh comments because this kind of situation is one where deaths could have easily been avoided had the girl in question thought about her actions before committing them: as I have said before, it is a tragedy that she will never forget. Also in terms of the man on the motorcycle, he likely wouldn't have crashed had she not first struck the car with her SUV: thus she can be held accountable as she was at the epicenter of the accident so to speak.
Again I apologize, but innocent lives were lost because someone wanted to have a good time and wasn't thinking. She should have to live with that choice everyday: unfortunately two other people will never be able to think again.Sep 14, 2010
Concealed carry without a permit only when in to affect after July, but I agree that gun rights probably cause some to think twice before breaking and entering.
Beefrits, immigration has been decreasing for the past five years and the laws passed over the last year probably had little affect on this report in my opinion.
I think the decrease is probably a result of better trained and organized police departments to be honest.
Regardless I think we can all agree that this is good news.Sep 14, 2010
It could be possible that the collision of the motorcycle occurred almost simultaneously with the initial crash. Basically he could have been directly behind the car hit when the accident happened.
mrbill I agree that others are to blame, though I think most people who are 17 realize the potential consequences of their actions. I think the real punishment for this girl will be living with her actions until the day she dies. She can never escape the fact that she, and she alone, caused the deaths of two people. They can never come back and she will never forget. That alone will torment her until the end of her life. And for what; a good time?
I couldn't imagine living with myself if I did something like this.Sep 14, 2010
