I think its time now to stop using the word "haboob" and just stick to the original "dust storm"

AZ should be more interested in safety and less in money. If AZ were serious about increasing road safety, it would: 1. Standardize yellow light duration across the valley 2. Convert Gilbert and Scottsdale from lagging to leading left (as everywhere else in the valley) 3. Require all municipalities to time the lights on major roads (not to 60+mph as some roads in Gilbert seem to be!) 4. Enact severe penalties for texting while driving (probation, then loss of license). Only then would I accept that those cameras are all about safety and not money.May 3, 2012
Is anyone...ANYONE...capable of writing a story on the local housing market without putting a ridiculously positive spin on it, i.e. making it seem much healthier than it actually is? How about some objectivity for a change? the feigned optimism and excuses are getting tedious.Dec 13, 2011
Fructose is indeed a bad actor in our diet, and unfortunately one that shows up everywhere, all the time. Fructose, unlike glucose, can only be metabolized in the liver. We were never meant to eat nearly as much fructose as the modern diet provides, and this is leading to obesity, diabetes and other disorders. I sincerely hope both the author can not only gain control of her condition, but also that fructose and HFCS become much less prevalent in processed foods.Sep 16, 2011

Overheard in the Gulag:
A: How long are you in for?
B: Twenty years
A: What was your crime?
A: You are lying. The penalty for nothing is ten years.
Ten years isn't nearly enough for killing a child either.Dec 11, 2010
