It should be "Democratic," seriously East Valley Tribune? 10 months ago
I thought Monti's performance was terrible. He seemed more interested in plugging his restaurant than he did debating the issues.
IMHO, Mark Mitchell was the only one to come off as mayoral, and as such I'm fairly certain he will be getting my vote. Jan 31, 2012
I'm with Senator Schapira on this one, she should have waited to the end of the session to quit.
Her next step should be to actually move the congressional district she wants to run it. Jan 3, 2012
David is clearly the best person for the job. His public service speaks for itself, as do his politics.
He's a small business owner, a family man, and doesn't run from who he is or what he believes. He has a track record of proven leadership, and ought to bring some sanity to the U.S. House.
I hope David runs, but more importantly, I hope he win. Arizona could use some real leadership for a change. Nov 22, 2011
"Gerrymander (V): to divide (a territorial unit) into election districts to give one political party an electoral majority in a large number of districts while concentrating the voting strength of the opposition in as few districts as possible."
By definition, a gerrymandered district cannot be competitive. You should know what words mean before you use them, even if they are part of your talking points.
The governor had no ground to remove the chairwoman. Nov 12, 2011
Really? This is his plan? It's a joke right? Is David Schweikert's plan to reduce the debt his party ran up really just "eliminate medicare and the dollar bill"? What planet does the congressman live on? Are there not more important issues, like say, THE ECONOMY? We really did ourselves a disservice when we elected this consummate politician.
Seems to me that this has been tried several times, and quite simply, Americans won't use dollar coins. Good leadership congressman! Given what we already know about his his me-first character, I wouldn't be surprised if he owns a minting press or something. Sep 21, 2011
The commenters didn’t address the criticisms in Lauren’s letter. All they did was rattle off generic far right-wing slogans that require almost no thought to expose as hallow.
This is my problem with the so-called Tea Party. If they really cared about what they preached (like they claim), then a Republican using their constituents’ tax dollars to subside their health care should be very upsetting to them. But it’s not, they are silent.
David Schweikert is a millionaire. He is a millionaire taking tax payer money to benefit himself. But to his base, the real outrage is giving healthcare to the poor and chronically sick.
It’s only socialism until David benefits. It’s not like he would have gone without healthcare had he not taken his cushy government plan, the guy is beyond rich. He took the government plan because it allowed him to line his already stuffed pockets just a little bit more – at taxpayer expense.
If you guys want to run around calling people socialist, communist, or Marxist for believing people have the right to see a doctor when they are sick, then you need to walk to the walk. Cause right now, you just look like useful idiots.

Congressman I have two questions. Why did you take government healthcare, and why did you vote to hide that from your constituents?
It doesn't seem very genuine that you based your entire campaign on denying people access to the same quality of healthcare you decided to give yourself.
Say what you will about him, but Harry Mitchell never would have done that. Jan 28, 2011
I agree with Tom. I can't believe after all that, he is going to take healthcare coverage subsidized by the tax payers. The man is a multi-millionaire, he can afford to put his money where his mouth is.
I guess the real question is does Mr. Schweikert consider his own healthcare unconstitutional, or is it only socialism when it is given to people who actually need it?
