This is absurd. If all these elected officials were guests of the Fiesta Bowl, they have no obligation to repay anything. The Fiesta Bowl is looking more like a band of fools with and without John Junker.Jun 28, 2011
How about getting spending under control, then worry about tax schemes. Mr. Court's ideas were so outrageously ridiculous, he is putting his political career in jeoprady when he comes up with a plan that would mean a tax increase to most citizens. Re- think the specifics of your bill, Mr. Court, then introduce an equitable bill for consideration. If you can't do that, don't bring it backMar 29, 2011
If Sheriff Dufus, er, Dupnik thinks Arizona is the mecca for prejudice and bigotry, why didn't he have at least one deputy at Gabrielle Giffords function last Saturday. It seems reasonable that if an Arizona Congress man/woman is in town to hold an event, law enforcement has the responsibility to provide a presence at that event. For those who disagree, put yourself in the position of the elected representative and decide whether you want to greet the public without one shred of protection. Maybe if Dupnik had sent even 1 deputy sheriff last Saturday, we wouldn't be grieving for 6 murdered people, including a 9 year old girl and 13 wounded people including a United States Representative. The Sheriff is supposed to be conducting a criminal investigation not rendering a poltical opinion that we can read in a newspaper. His comments about Arizona as a mecca for prejudice and bigotry are not worthy of an elected official for Arizona.Jan 10, 2011
I can understand why Clarence Dufus, er, Dupnik has not filed state charges against Jared Loughner. He's too busy making inflammatory statements about Conservatives who have no connection to Loughner, and generally trashing the state of Arizona for allegedly being "a mecca for prejudice and bigotry." Too bad he can't prove his case. This guy is not fit to be a public servant in Arizona at any level. He is as bad or worse than the fat slob Raul Grijhalva, who called for a boycott of the state because of SB1070. In Dufus's case, (sorry, Dupnik), he is obligated to enforce all laws of the state whether he likes them or not. If he won't enforce the laws, he should resign. Likewise, he should resign if he can't refrain from making political statements instead of conducting a criminal investigation.Jan 10, 2011
