This is an anti-freedom establishment. They have a no-weapon sign posted. Those signs do not stop criminals. The restaurant is a more dangerous place as a result of that sign. Do not eat there.11 months ago
"It’s disconcerting,” said Mesa Police Chief Frank Milstead. “The fact that anyone can walk around and carry a gun without training is disconcerting.”
Nothing new here. Criminals have been doing it for longer than the CCW permit system was around.
What really irritates me about this guy Milstead and his statement is that on its face it is completely unjustified and makes no sense whatsoever. ANYONE who isn’t a prohibited possessor can legally walk around RIGHT NOW, carrying a weapon, WITHOUT any training. That’s nothing new. A criminal who is a prohibited possessor is going to carry a concealed weapon regardless of any law on the books. You should already know that. Please get your facts straight before you invalidate your own point again in the future.
Allow me to make a suggestion. Since it is pretty obvious that you have a problem with civilians and firearms, perhaps Arizona isn’t the best environment for someone like yourself. California abhors civilian rights when it comes to firearms. So does Illinois, Wisconsin, and New York. Maybe you could go work with George Gascon? Honestly, they love giving weapons to LEO’s in CA. Most jurisdictions in CA will do anything they can to remove firearm rights from civilians. The same goes for Chicago, and New York. I bet you’d be chums in no time with Richard Daley in Chicago. Have you looked for work there? I mean nobody other than a cop is going to have a gun in Chicago. Or New York. Or San Francisco. Right? I bet you’d feel much safer elsewhere, knowing John and Jane Lawabider didn’t have any weapons.
Oh…I did have a question. Is it true that ignorance is bliss? I’m just asking because I figure you would know.

Corruption is on both sides of the table here; there is no such thing as an honest gilbert cop, period. But to claim you are entitled to five hundred thousand dollars because you were A) a sworn LEO, B) drunk behind the wheel, C) in the middle of the street, and D) got mouthy and uttered a threat....jeez. Shall I go on? This guy shouldn't still be in law enforcement, period.Jul 23, 2010
Now, do you really still want to go to that academy after you give away the keys to the kingdom just to get there?
Privacy is a dying fad in this country; one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.Jul 23, 2010
This serves Tempe right. Back in 1996 when I paid into the scamorgization called ASU for the privilege of parking in Lot 59, they forced us to park out where the lake is now because of super bowl XXX.
That left a bad taste in my mouth, but at least now they get to deal with a bad smell right under their nose.Jul 23, 2010
We just have to trust that the police, their wonderful tools like 'subterfuge', and their representative det. C.L. Cocking did their best.
*sigh* You know the system is broken when the police can lie to you without repercussion, but if you lie to them you are breaking the law.Jul 23, 2010
