Bravo to Mayor Smith for being hell-bent on keeping the crown jewell of the half-billion dollar Cactus League industry inside Mesa. Your tireless efforts are appreciated by the vast majority of citizens. Bring on the November vote!!!Jul 12, 2010
golfboy is absolutely correct. Selling-off unproductive land to help retain the Cub's huge revenue stream is a smart plan. I can think of nothing more short-sighted than to cannibalize this land to help finance city services. You'd lose the investment capital and remove all incentive for unions to trim their layers of feckless administrators along with their bloated entitlements.Jun 30, 2010
I visited this establishment once a couple years ago. Absolute worst service I've ever received in my 53 years on earth. Good riddence.Jun 8, 2010
Even the most vocal critics will acknowledge the Cubs deliver 10's of millions of dollars annually to Phoenix/Mesa. This is better described as an investment in a long-term partnership that will more than pay for itself through tax revenue and direct support to local businesses. "Corporate welfare" is a catchy buzz phrase but hardly applies here. May 26, 2010
