How many of you could actually sit on a jury and convict another citizen of DUI based upon a test that in no way, shape, or form constitutes impairment? Jurors have a right and a responsibility to nullify unreasonable and unjust laws.2 months ago

It is unjust for the Gang of Four to use the courts to deny medicine to those who report that they benefit. Is it necessary for the voters in Arizona to pass a resolution to regulate marijuana like alcohol for patients to obtain a natural herbal medicine that has worked for people around the world for thousands of years? I understand that a recent poll showed that six out of ten voters in Arizona would support an initiative to regulate marijuana like alcohol. 4 months ago
Montgomery couldn't catch Republican politicians taking bribes for the Fiesta Bowl nor could he find any problems with a Republican attorney general involved in a hit and run accident to protect the identity of his mistress. Has this guy ever acted in the public interest? It is clear that his concern with the law is that it allows him to choose who to bully while he lets his friends do as they please. Rather than to support the people of Arizona he shows contempt for the laws he has taken an oath to enforce. This is just a smoother version of Andrew Thomas. Maybe next time we can elect someone who can protect us from people like Bill Montgomery. 5 months ago
I don’t support this law but would support an initiative to put antipsychotic medications in the water fountains at the capital. These people are not just an embarrassment to our state, they’re nuts…
About half of the prescriptions written in this country between 1850 and 1900 contained cannabis. Cannabis is an incredible medicine. Did they ban Marinol, the synthetic THC that is currently prescribed? If I have a choice I would prefer to use a natural medicine that has been organically grown rather than an expensive pharmaceutical chemical.
Sativex, an actual extract of the cannabis plant is now approved in Denmark, England, Spain, Germany, and Canada. This under the tongue spray is working its way toward approval in this country. I'll bet these short sighted bafoons in our legislature want to allow the “marijuana concentrate” on university campuses when it is available but not the plant itself. It's not as though you can't already get cannabis on university campuses faster than you can get a beer, it's just that they want to ban medical marijuana. Most high school students would be able to see the hypocrisy and vindictive nature of this law. Don’t expect university students to blindly obey this new law. They already do not obey current cannabis laws.
Legislators are not doctors. Stay out of my doctor's office and my medical decisions. Stop attacking patients whether they are AHCCCS, medical marijuana, seniors, or women. November elections are not far away.Mar 28, 2012
By the way hpaq, I can't get medicine from a dispensary because they are not yet open but I understand that I can obtain medicine from a caregiver or another medical marijuana patient. Mar 13, 2012
This is reefer madness at its finest. Don't forget that you do have a right to remain silent and that you have the right to consult with an attorney if you believe that you are being asked to do something that is not required is not by Arizona law. This is not legal advice, just basic common sense when dealing with out of control law enforcement. Remember that these people do not have to be honest with you during their interrogations and that they often lie. Be aware that they can print outrageous and untrue information in a newspaper article that they can't prove in court. With about forty percent of the American people having tried marijuana and more people trying medical marijuana in Arizona every day it is not likely that they can get anyone to believe that they were impaired for over a day after they smoked a joint. There is no evidence to support these statements other than an out of control drug cop acting like someone on meth and a news article that was not well researched.

When the voters pass a referendum it is given a status higher than laws passed by the legislature and in essence becomes part of our Arizona constitution. The voters passed three different medical marijuana initiatives. If any of us disrespected the Arizona constitution these idiots or ones like them would be all over us faster than Joe Arpaio on an illegal alien burning the flag. Where do people like this get the unmitigated gall to disrespect the voters? If they do not like the people of this state and do not respect their choices they need to move further out into the desert than Chandler or leave the state altogether.Feb 12, 2012
I don't think that anyone has to have or to give up conservative values to enforce the law and to care that people are treated in a manner that is consistent with the constitution. I don't think that you have to be tolerant or intolerant to enforce immigration laws. I do think that you are not a good sheriff when you divert 100 million dollars of your budget into prohibited areas and when you do not enforce child sexual abuse laws to enforce other laws that bring you more publicity. I don't think that you have to treat everyone that does not speak English as you would treat the Taliban. I am disappointed that our relationship with Mexico is soured by Joe Arpaio who cares more about using his position to garner political influence over the border issue than he cares about the people involved. I do care when public safety is effected. Sheriff Joe must go. Jan 7, 2012
