Why didn't they go with "East Valley Copper Square"? That Copper Square re-branding went so well for Phoenix itself!6 days ago
Went to the outlet mall there a few weeks back, and the stuff was much more expensive than the same stuff in just regular stores. Plus the place was dead. 6 days ago
"Copper Square" worked so well in Phoenix. We need more nonsense terms for things! Sign makers are happy about this as they need to make MANY signs to tell people about the new name of the area that no one uses.1 week ago
Manny. Getting on the 202 from Chandler Blvd is easy. Just south on 40th or 32nd to Pecos (which is the 202 route). Kyrene to the 202 would work fine for the trucks at the warehouses that need to head west.2 weeks ago
manny. it's the "loop 202". Riggs would not be a loop. You must have seen the MANY warehouses at I-10 and the 202 today - including a HUGE Basha's one. How would Riggs help those trucks get to the west valley?
JUST BUILD IT AS PLANNED!2 weeks ago
I've lived in the area for over 20 years. At time time I moved in the "future interchange" signs were up, the SM 202 was a dotted line on the maps, and the freeway was approved. NO ONE should have been taken by surprise when they bought. When the church in the picture was being planned, the leadership admitted they built there it was because the land was REALLY cheap because of the freeway.
The land for the houses in the path was also much cheaper than in the area north of that. This freeway was NO SURPRISE.
People I've talked to that bought near the freeway path said, that yes, they knew about the freeway, but they didn't care, because they would just fight it. "informed ignorance".
The interchange at the 202/I-10/Peco was built the way it was in preparation of the SM 202!
How's this? If theses folks with "informed ignorance" force a change in the path, each home be changed an extra one-time $50k tax to make up for their cheap "freeway" land, and to help pay the cost of moving the freeway path! Bet they will be ready to move instead.

The reality is that people like Goldwater and Reagan would not be accepted in today's "wacky far right" GOP.
The only way the GOP can hope to survive is to get the wacky right off to the fringe of their party. 3 weeks ago
Drew, if you don't yet understand Montgomery is an idiot, you have MUCH to learn! But at least he's not as dirty as Andy Thomas - just as STUPID though!
Accuracy. Opium is illegal under federal law, yet there are pain killers, prescribed, that contain opium. (oxys, for example). Also, you know that if you eat a poppy seed bagel, you can fail some tests for opiates? "Sorry, but that bagel you just ate indicates you are using an illegal drug!"
Plus Accuracy, we are talking about a STATE law on DUI here.....3 months ago
Drew, yes studies HAVE been done. The form of THC in the body after a few hours does NOT effect you. Your argument is the same as "no one has proved the world is more than 6000 years old" in a court!
The problem is there is no easy test to see what form the THC is in. Not the science of what happens in the body.3 months ago
Drew, any of your friends say that smoking pot effects their driving the day after, much less a MONTH after? That's what this is about. There are compounds left in the body for a month AFTER the effect has warn off!
Seems you REALLY should smoke a bowl yourself and find out what it's like. This isn't the 1940's, when the movie "Reefer Madness" came out!3 months ago
