Malibubarbi: What does your history lesson have to do with this article? Besides,
it was Native American land long before Mexico annexed it. Jul 8, 2011
The problem with illegal immigration is that there's little to no consequences to the illegal immigrants and the businesses that hire them. Bust businesses that hire illegal immigrants, abolish the "Anchor Baby" laws, and take away the ability for illegal immigrants to live, work and stay in this country illegally. It's time our elected and appointed officials enforce this country's immigration and labor laws, and enact then also enforce new laws as times change. May 7, 2011
Upshaw11: Just because people are hard working and have families doesn't excuse them from obeying the laws of this country, nor does it excuse them from being punished for their illegal actions. They brought their misery upon themselves. Apr 21, 2011
That''s right, hit them right in their profits margin. Maybe then they will think twice (or more) about hiring illegal immigrants again. Make them hurt for breaking the law. Apr 21, 2011
AzConan: If you're trying to compare Nazi Germany to the U. S. today, you're comparing apples to oranges. Hitler's regime was persecuting it's legal citizens, not ones who
entered that country illegally.
Also, just because you want a better life for yourself and your family doesn't mean you
should obtain it illegally. There's a right way and a wrong way to obtain a better life, and there's no excuses for breaking the law. Many people obtain their citizenship the right way here-I know it's time consuming and can be expensive; I have a relative who
emigrated here and went through the post McCarthy era background checks. After the citizenship classes and eight years, she obtained her U. S. citizenship.
If anything is messed up, it's the fact that there's no control over the unregulated
illegal immigration the U. S. allows-No control of the numbers, no background checks,
and no control over the diseases illegal immigrants bring in. That's the problem. Apr 19, 2011
Mothers Right: It doesn't matter how hard people work, what their skin color is,
or what nationaliy they are. The bottom line is: Illegal is still illegal.
It's unfortunate that people are arrested in front of their children, but it also
happens to legal American citizens as well.
These women chose to break the law, and they were caught. Apr 15, 2011
Good. Illegal immigrants shouldn't be rewarded
for breaking the law. Feb 17, 2011
Good! It's about time to stop rewarding illegal immigrants for breaking the laws of this country; they do not deserve to live in
public housing at taxpayer's expense.
Better yet, not only should illegal immigrants be unable to obtain jobs here, they should also be unable to obtain housing here as well-any housing. Feb 3, 2011
"They say most of those arrested are illegal immigrants and many have extensive records."
Yes-The illegal immigrants mentioned here are just doing the jobs most Americans won't do....And committing the crimes most Americans won't commit.
