Even before the law was approved in November Doctors we able to prescribe medicinal marijuana to patients. The medicinal marijuana was provided by the government and sent to the patients by mail/UPS. However, it is up to the discretion of police officers whether they want to charge those patients as felons. I suffer from Glaucoma which is one of the conditions that doctors prescribe medicinal marijuana to. I do not have my medicinal marijuana card but want to advocate for those suffering from this specific disease. Most patients who suffer from Glaucoma are older and have little or no sight. How do you expect someone who is practically blind to grow there own plants? To those who agree that the dispensaries should not be allowed are just plain ignorant. With the ability to grow 12 plants will allow patients to have at least 3 times the amount of medicinal marijuana that would be allowed from the dispensaries. Also, if its alright to grow or produce marijuana then you're pretty much giving all the crack heads permission to cook up crack! Wouldn't you want the medicine to be regulated? Why should patients have to produce there own medicine when you can go to the pharmacy and get your Pain pills which are more harmful, more addictive, and an actually gate way drug to hard street drugs.
