Explosive plays and record-breaking performances marked Chandler Valley Christian’s 54-20 dismantling of visiting Phoenix Bourgade Catholic in a 2A quarterfinal football game Friday night at Benson Field.
If there are tougher ways than this to get knocked out of the state tournament and lose a perfect season, it’s a short list.
It took two early running plays to put an end to No. 3 seed Chandler Valley Christian’s season and allow coach Bill Morgan’s brother to advance to the 2A state championship game for the first time since 2003.
