    The Best in Basketball Summer Invitational was forced to cancel all of its games on Thursday because of the massive power outage that affected thousands of homes in Mesa. The tournament is being played at Red Mountain, which was very close to the site of the transformer fire that caused the issue. Former Mesquite basketball coach Tom Saltzstein, who runs the tournament, said there was thought of moving the games to McClintock, but eventually they were just called off.

The Wildcats' latest victim was North Lawndale Prep of Chicago, Ill., as Isaiah Strong led fourth-ranked Mesquite with 20 points, Jason Bower added 17 and Christian Garretson had 13 and six assists in a 71-59 win in the VisitMesa.com Basketball Challenge at Mesa Mountain View on Tuesday.
