PHOENIX (AP) — A former physical-education teacher in Phoenix who was accused of sexual misconduct with a female student has pleaded guilty to a trio of charges.
Nicole Wooten entered the pleas Monday to attempted child molestation, sexual conduct with a minor and attempted sexual conduct with a minor. The 38-year-old is to be sentenced on Jan. 6 in Maricopa County Superior Court.
Authorities say the victim was an eighth-grader at the Herrera School of Fine Arts & Dual Language in Phoenix in 2005 at the time of the alleged sexual misconduct.
Authorities say the charges stemmed from incidents that occurred at Wooten's home in Mesa.

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Police in Tempe say a 21-year-old man was killed after being shot multiple times outside a drug store near the Arizona State University campus.
Authorities said they are searching for two suspects in the fatal shooting of Errun Scroggins on Friday night near University Drive and Mill Avenue.
Police say Scroggins was arguing with the suspects outside a CVS parking lot around 7 p.m. when he was shot in his car.
They say Scroggins managed to drive to the street. He later died at a hospital.
Police spokesman Aaron Levi says the two suspects fled and officers are continuing to search for them.
Both are described as black males in their early 20s. One was wearing a black sweatshirt and the other a light colored one.

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — A Phoenix man has been arrested for allegedly punching a police horse in Tempe.
Tempe police say 20-year-old Bryson Albert was taken into custody for harming a service animal, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police say an officer tried to break up a fight on Mill Avenue and Albert punched the officer's horse.
Officers also reported finding marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Albert's pants pocket.
He reportedly told police that the pants belonged to his brother.
It was unclear Friday if Albert has a lawyer yet for his case.

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — A man accused of sexually assaulting a 91-year-old woman in Tempe last month is being held without bond, authorities said Wednesday.
Ekwunze Job Owen Jr., 24, was taken into custody early Wednesday near the Arizona State University campus, according to Tempe police. He didn't have a lawyer at his initial court appearance, and a public defender was being appointed to his case.
Owen allegedly entered a woman's home last Saturday and then fled when she began screaming for help, police said. It was after the incident that Owen was positively identified as a suspect through DNA, police said.
Tempe Police Cmdr. Kim Hale said Owen allegedly has admitted to some of the crimes, including the October sexual assault.
Owen also is accused of at least three incidents of indecent exposure in Mesa since February 2012.
Police said Owen allegedly left DNA at several crime scenes, and it was matched to the suspect in the sexual assault of the 91-year-old woman on Oct. 18.
Officers with Tempe police, Mesa police and the U.S. Marshals Service worked to track down Owen.
Mesa Police Chief Frank Milstead said at a news conference that during the course of the investigation, authorities realized there was an established pattern and that the suspect was a "serialized criminal" and had been preying upon vulnerable victims.
"This guy was an opportunist," Milstead said. "He knocked doors in the area asking people to use their phone. He tried to befriend people."
The series of incidents began in Mesa in January 2012, and investigators have compiled information about trespassing and indecent exposures since then.
