The city of Mesa Solid Waste Management Department and East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) have partnered to develop a program that provides students with real world experience in steel fabrication while providing an essential service to meet the city’s business needs.
Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation has awarded an $84,910 Toolbox for Education grant to McClintock High School in the Tempe Union High School District. Grant funds will be used to renovate McClintock's 1,200-seat auditorium by enhancing the interior of the facility with new paint, updating lighting fixtures, and installing energy efficient light bulbs. The 23,200-square-foot auditorium was constructed in 1975.

As it has for years, the Mesa Fire Department invested Thursday in the training of fire science students at the East Valley Institute of Technology by donating an item the school could not otherwise afford: a 1997 Pierce Quantum 4-door cab fire truck.
It’ll be good food for a good cause at 6 p.m., March 7, when Mesa’s East Valley Institute of Technology hosts the 21st annual Mystery Chef Dinner benefitting EVIT’s Culinary Arts program.
Chelsea Kozak has always been interested in technology. Through the use of various devices and with age, that curiosity turned into a desire for more knowledge.
