    These are challenging times. And we all understand that the very first challenge is immigration. We shouldn't be fighting over whose job it is -- there's enough for everyone to do. We all need to be part of the solution. So right up front, let me address the issue of 1070. People are only half-right when they tell you I asked the Governor to veto 1070. In fact, I asked her to veto 1070 and send it back to the legislature to fix the very flaws that have now put much of it on hold. That's the truth.

At that time, buyers were told that the ‘air base’ was closed and there were no plans on the ‘books’ to re-open it.
