Second chances don't come along often and Chandler didn't waste theirs Friday night.
Chandler and Gilbert both came out firing on Friday. Gilbert, however, couldn’t keep up with the Wolves higher-powered offense. A lost snap on the first drive of the game was Chandler’s only turnover, as it cruised to a 49-24 victory over Gilbert.
Visiting Chandler had four players score in double figures in a 77-56 win over Mountain View in a Division I matchup of title contenders.
It didn’t matter who touched the ball on Friday night.
Chandler didn’t realize it had a chance to make its case for the No. 1 spot in Division I as the high school football season continues on its wacky way. It took more than a half before the Wolves’ defense shut down Gilbert Mesquite in the second half for a 37-7 win on the road.
Will the 17th time be a charm?
