SPECIAL FOR THE EAST VALLEY TRIBUNE-DEC,6,2010-Mesquite High School students in Rick Ford's construction classes crafted 50 doll cradles. Another class made 50 doll blankets and pillows. Ford bought 50 dolls. They are being donated to the American Association of Fine Woodworkers to be given out at Crisis Centers and the Boys & Girls Clubs.

Mesquite High School will graduate 446 students this year. Students have been awarded just over $6 million in scholarships.

Mesquite High School hosts bioterror drill

Gilbert’s Mesquite High School will play host to a mock bioterrorist training event Saturday. From 10 a.m. to noon, the Maricopa County Department of Public Health’s Office of Preparedness and Response will run the event that will allow the county, town and volunteers to see how quickly and effectively they can work together to dispense medication to the public.

Mesquite High School to host annual pancake breakfast

The Mesquite High School orchestra in Gilbert will host its annual pancake breakfast 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Nov. 6.

Mesquite High School to host college fair

The Gilbert Western Regional College Fair and Financial Aid Night for Campo Verde, Gilbert and Mesquite high school students and parents will be 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 21 in the Mesquite auditorium, 500 S. McQueen Road.

Mesquite High band director honored

Mesquite High School band director Ronald Andre has been named teacher of the week for Dec. 31 to Jan. 4 by Fulton Homes and KNIX (102.5 FM). Andre was nominated by 17-year-old Amber Manning because of the impact he has had on the marching band students at Mesquite High in the Gilbert Unified School District.
