This is Saguaro’s time of the year.
The Saguaro football team is back to don’t-blink status.
Only 22 minutes of football was played between Tempe and Saguaro Friday, but that was more than enough for the Buffaloes on this night.
A leader is only as good as the legacy he leaves.
Explosive first half plays highlighted Saguaro’s dominant 55-13 victory over Arcadia.
Luke Rubenzer, Saguaro: The sophomore quarterback carried the Sabercats to a last-second victory against Phoenix Thunderbird, racking up 457 yards of total offense and five touchdowns in a 43-39 come-from-behind victory. Rubenzer finished 22-of-27 for 306 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for 151 yards and two touchdowns. He also played safety for Saguaro the entire second half.
Midway through the third quarter, Saguaro found its "on" button, and once the Sabercats pressed it, the season was over for Queen Creek.
Score one for the offense. Actually, score 62 for the offense.
Down goes the champ.

Thunderbird’s coaching staff wasn’t happy when Saguaro used a play-action pass on third down for a 52-yard score with 2:18 remaining for the Sabercats’ 10th touchdown of the night in a 70-21 victory on Thursday at Saguaro.
