Hold those individuals running for election responsible for removing the litter of advertising posters they stake at every intersection months prior to Election Day. For each poster still in place the day after elections, the candidate will be charged $10 per day, per poster, until the litter is removed. I believe there is a penalty fine in place for littering, and this situation qualifies as littering.
Inside a nondescript garage-like workshop nestled between restaurants, a flower shop and jewelry stores along Main Street, ideas are taking shape.
“The United States became the world’s largest natural gas producer in 2010 — and this year, reports have confirmed that the U.S. is now the world’s largest producer of crude oil with output exceeding 11 million barrels per day. Despite the Obama administration’s continued ban on new drilling for oil in our coastal waterways, America can now reduce its dependence on foreign oil from Saudi Arabia or any other Middle Eastern country.”
Visiting a retired Frank Capra at his Sierra Nevada hideaway, Clint Eastwood was baffled.
Step out of your comfort zone and into another world at the Phoenix Art Museum’s exhibition “Antonio Berni: Juanito and Ramona,” open through Sept. 21. The “Interrupteds” are remodeling, which is a pleasant way of saying that we have ripped off the back end of our house and have been single-handedly air-conditioning the neighborhood for the last month or so.
Each year in Maricopa County, tens of thousands of animals are euthanized. The shelters fill up, the programs that aid animals with medical and behavioral problems can only take so many cases, and, unfortunately, the whole system can only care for so many.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. — As a group of children walked home together from school in Providence, they held hands and played the "I Spy" guessing game. When they reached a busy intersection, an adult accompanying them prodded, "What's the rule?"
Positivity was in short supply for Lawana Tremble when she grew up. She said she was bullied as a kid, discriminated against in a variety of ways and told she’d never amount to anything.
My favorite scene from the surprisingly superb “Neighbors” happens to be one of the smallest. It features Zac Efron's Teddy watching his best friend Pete (Dave Franco) meet with potential employers in preparation for life after college. All Efron, who shortly before admits to possessing a less than impressive GPA, can do is stuff a lollipop in his mouth and walk away as his friend’s future comes to fruition.
Mesa resident Kevin Young, 42, hasn’t been a paragon of health in his life, but he didn’t expect to undergo an open-heart surgery in his early 40s.
“This is the end, beautiful friend.” That line from The Doors’ song could easily sum up Friday at the 2014 Phoenix Film Festival (PFF) and International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival (IHSFF), where several apocalypse themed films were showcased throughout the day and the highlight of the evening was meeting the amazingly beautiful Dee Wallace, who was on hand for the screening of her classic film, Cujo.
To be perfectly upfront, I’ve never been a huge Kevin Costner fan. That’s not to say he hasn’t been good in a few movies such as “Field of Dreams.” He’s even directed some great movies…well one great movie at least. Then in the late nineties, Costner seemed to go on a major ego trip, constantly casting himself as mankind’s savior in movies like “Waterworld” and “The Postman.” Now he’s riding the comeback train with effective work in “Hatfields & McCoys” and “Man of Steel.” “3 Days to Kill” is unfortunately a step backwards for Costner. It won’t kill his career again, but it certainly won’t help it either.
In this Oct. 8, 2011 photo, new property owners temporarily added some whimsical yard art to the entry while moving their goods into the carport and house in Langley, Wash. There’s more to relocating than unpacking boxes after moving day. Many landscape designers suggest you deal with safety issues first — leaning or diseased trees, uneven walkways or litter that harbors garden pests. (AP Photo/Dean Fosdick)

Based on his four feature films, it’s clear that Spike Jonze’s mind is nothing short of an endlessly inventive wonderland. He brought two of the most creative screenplays ever written to life in “Being John Malkovich” and “Adaptation.” In “Where the Wild Things Are,” he took a 48-page picture book and transformed it into one of the most emotionally complex family movies of all time. “Her,” the director’s latest outing, is simply a revelation of imagination.
When a dog is shaved down for the summer, can he be embarrassed? When a dog misbehaves toward the newly adopted pet, is he being jealous? When a cat urinates on the bed pillow while her family is on vacation is she being spiteful? When a dog’s litter mate passes after 10 years together, will the surviving dog grieve?

LOS ANGELES — Imagine the ideal designer dog. It would be smart, healthy and hypoallergenic. It would have the yap bred out and longevity bred in. And, most important, it would never lose its puppy face.
