Congress regularly weighs in on the importance of immigrants learning English. Now a couple of brave lawmakers believe the U.S. government should do likewise, or at least learn to write it clearly.
A Mesa lawmaker wants to help the state schools chief launch a program to begin teaching children foreign language in kindergarten.
Long before babies can speak they have the desire and ability to communicate their needs. A class focusing on the importance of parents using American Sign Language to communicate with their babies will be 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at Mesa Community College, 1833 W. Southern Ave.
