    Queen Creek’s Horseshoe Park & Equestrian Centre was recently recognized by the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association for the 2011 Roots N’ Boots Pro Rodeo. The Association awarded its 2011 Justin Best Footing Award in the turquoise circuit to the rodeo for the park’s competition surface/flooring, known in the equestrian industry as footing.

Ten heavily used ballfields that serve as school playgrounds by day and ballfields for youth sports by night are not being adequately maintained by the city parks department and the Scottsdale Unified School District, said Scottsdale resident Larry Heath.
