    Gilbert Mayor John Lewis was elected as chair of the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority on Monday. Board members also selected Gila River Indian Community Lt. Gov. Joseph Manuel as vice chair, Mesa Mayor Scott Smith as secretary, Queen Creek Mayor Gail Barney as treasurer and Phoenix Vice Mayor Thelda Williams as director. The members will hold their positions for one year. The airport, established in 1984, is owned and operated by Mesa, Gilbert, Queen Creek and the Gila River Indian Community.
