GLENDALE — A public memorial of stuffed animals and candles that grew in the past year for a missing 5-year-old Glendale girl will be removed.

GLENDALE — The search of a Phoenix-area landfill for the body of a Glendale girl missing since October has ended without finding her remains.

The relatives of a 5-year-old Glendale girl who police believe was murdered are preparing to sue the agencies that were supposed to protect her.

The methodical search of an Arizona landfill for the body of a 5-year-old girl missing for about eight months is expected to finish by the end of June.

Police believe Jhessye Shockley, a 5-year-old Glendale girl missing for more than two months, was killed and that her body was dumped in a trash bin across the Valley in Tempe.

The state House unanimously approved legislation Monday to require parents to report their missing children despite bipartisan concerns that all it will do is cause problems for unwary adults.
