The Gilbert boys volleyball team advanced to the Class 5A boys volleyball state tournament semifinals by defeating Brophy in four sets on Wednesday. The Tigers will take on Mountain View on Friday evening at Campo Verde High School for the right to play in Saturday afternoon’s championship match, but before that we caught up with Gilbert coach Jeff Grover after Wednesday’s win over the Broncos to talk about what’s ahead.

Mountain Pointe’s boys volleyball program knows a thing or two (or nine) about big matches. The Pride have played in nine state championship matches under coach Fred Mann, and have won seven.
