Hamilton advanced to the Division I boys volleyball state semifinals with a hard-fought, 25-22, 20-25, 25-22, 25-21 win over No. 8 Anthem Boulder Creek on Tuesday night at Hamilton.
Hamilton’s joy of earning the No. 1 seed in the state boys volleyball tournament was quickly muted when coach Jeff Bader saw who his team would line up with in the second round.
Don’t be fooled by the score. Even if it is cliché, the match was much closer than it appeared.
The Hamilton boys volleyball team made the Class 5A state tournament last season as a No. 14 seed and was promptly swept in three games by eventual champion Glendale Deer Valley.
