Someday, the talent pool will dry up enough and the Chandler High girls track program will be challenged for state supremacy. That day, however, is not in the immediate future.

At the 5A state track and field championships, it seemed as though Larissa Matthews’ day never ended. The Chandler High junior won three individual titles and ran a leg of a relay championship as the Wolves earned their third consecutive team title.

After watching Sarah Fakler run for three seasons, it's become a foregone conclusion that if she's racing Arizona runners, she's going to win.

It’s time to leave a legacy.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. As far as the 2011 high school track and field season goes, that phrase could not be more true.
