Just in time for holiday travel planning, East Valley motorists saw another near 8 cent drop in week-over-week prices at the gas pump.
While nationally fuel prices were up 2 cents last week, Arizona drivers saw nearly a 7 cent rise to an average of $3.827 a gallon, according to AAA Arizona. That surpasses the national average of $3.758 per gallon. The last time Arizona drivers experienced a price point this high was in August 2008.
East Valley fuel prices shed another 3 cents in the last week, according to AAA Arizona.
Just in time for the holidays, prices at the pump continue to drop in Arizona. Gas prices fell a little more than a penny to $3.153 per gallon on Thursday. The nationwide average shed more than four cents to $3.216 per gallon.
Fuel prices fell for the sixth consecutive week across Arizona and the country. In Arizona, motorists were paying an average of $3.224 per gallon on Thursday, a drop of 3.5 cents from last week. Across the nation, the average fuel price slid 2.6 cents to $3.292 per gallon.
Fuel prices continued their fall this week, with East Valley drivers paying $3.690 per gallon on Thursday, or 5.1 cents lower than a week ago.
