The Chandler Regional Medical Center has grown substantially since its genesis in 1961. The hospital completed a new five-story tower Aug. 26 to host its trauma center, and Chandler Regional was designated a Level I trauma center — of which there are only 10 in Arizona — from the Arizona Department of Health Services in March. According to Chandler Regional, the expansion will lead to 180 new hospital staff members who will help the medical center better serve the city’s growing population.

The long-awaited demise of the Elevation Chandler building is now entering its final stages.
Traffic will be slightly restricted on Frye Road between Price and Alma School roads as the city will be refurbishing 50 aging manholes.
Chandler officials and developers began the process toward building an office facility on Wednesday that’s expected to bring hundreds of jobs to the Price Road corridor.
The concrete structure called Elevation Chandler was intended to be a luxury hotel and would have provided the Chandler Fashion Center located next door a steady stream of consumers. It now sits vacant and exposed on an empty dirt plot and serves as a stark juxtaposition to the prosperous shopping center.
Operation Back to School Chandler, family-centered youth service ICAN and the Fulton Homes’ ‘Stuff the Bus’ campaign will collect donations, backpacks and school supplies for disadvantaged children.
Kids Club ‘Xtreme’ Summer Camp, hosted by the Higley Unified School District, will begin on June 2.
