Gary Ernst is quickly becoming the Phil Jackson of Arizona high school basketball.
Gary Ernst is in select company — his own. With Mountain View’s Division I boys title game win over Corona del Sol Wednesday at Glendale Arena, Ernst, who won his first title at Chandler High, now owns more 5A titles (six) than any coach in Arizona history.
