Parents of students who attend the East Valley Academy expressed their dismay Tuesday night about plans to move the program to a proposed Powell Community Learning Center at the current Powell Junior High School site.

Several East Valley administrators or aspiring administrators recently graduated from the Arizona Educational Foundation's 2009-2010 Principals' Leadership Academy of Arizona.

Chinese Culture Summer Camp will be Monday through Friday at Phoenix Preparatory Academy, 735 E. Fillmore St. Students will be taught from a diverse program including arts, crafts, dance, puppets, traditional dough figures, and painting and calligraphy.

Mesa’s Red Mountain and Mountain View high schools were the top two point-getters during regional Academic Decathlon competitions earlier this month. Several East Valley schools earned spots in the forty-team state final March 8-9. Representing Mesa will be Red Mountain, Mountain View, Mesa Skyline, Westwood and Dobson highs. Representing Chandler will be Seton Catholic Preparatory and Hamilton High. Representing Tempe will be Mountain Pointe and Marcos de Niza highs. Representing Gilbert will be Gilbert Classical Academy and Campo Verde High.
