With the magical Gilbert run to the state championship now a memory, the 2012 season is already shaping up to be a wide-open affair in the final month of the regular season before the state tournaments begin Oct. 30 (Division I and II), Nov. 1 (Division IV) and Nov. 2 (Division III and V).
Not much has gone wrong for the No. 4 (Division III) Queen Creek football team this season. It won its first two games against Combs and Casa Grande by a combined score of 117-0, the team is averaging 17.3 yards per carry, and a diving catch by wide receiver Gabe Vasquez helped quarterback Carson Jones finish a perfect 8-for-8 passing last week.
