Defense attorney Jason John Keller of Tempe was charged Wednesday by the Arizona Attorney General's Office with one count of conspiracy to commit promoting prison contraband, three counts of promoting prison contraband and three counts of assisting a criminal street gang.

BOSTON — The defense team representing the Boston Marathon bombing suspect got a major boost Monday with the addition of Judy Clarke, a San Diego lawyer who has managed to get life sentences instead of the death penalty for several high-profile clients, including the Unabomber and the gunman in the rampage that injured former Arizona Rep. Defense attorneys withdrew their requests Monday to disqualify the Maricopa County Attorney's Office from prosecuting 14 criminal cases but plan to make the requests again in the future.
