It is hard to believe that 2010 is winding down so fast. You are probably gearing up to start December with open arms to shop, celebrate the season's local festivities and special events or travel to other hometowns near and far. As we embark on the final month of the year, it is a great time to savor the winter temperatures that allow us to spend more quality time at Chandler parks or participate in various recreational opportunities throughout the city.

“Pruitt’s is a private business on private property. The protesters blocking access to that place and the trespassing waiting on their property for jobs do not have a right to be there. Why don’t they go picket somebody else like the city of Phoenix, the state of Arizona, maybe go to Washington?”
These were some of our favorite Vent calls of 2007. We hope you enjoy reading them again as much as we did.
“Please hurry and give your money to a school, that’s your tax money. Any school you want. You can also designate its usage, if you’d like. I have to pay anyway, so what’s the difference if I pay now or pay later?”
“What idiots these young people are nowadays. They think they are paying for our Social Security. Let me tell you something, my dear. I worked since I was 14 years old and I am almost 80 right now. I paid in all of those years to Social Security and I think I’m entitled to every bit I paid in.”
“It’s time we do away with hate crime legislation in this country. It’s just not fair when a Mormon church is burned and the first article in the paper says it is not a hate crime, although they don’t know who started the fire.”

“Looks like business as usual if you look for Rex Griswold or Claudia Walters to be the next mayor because they’ve already been there, done that and Mesa’s in a world of hurt. Scott Smith is the only answer.”
“I’m always amused that they give the highway death toll for these storms in the Midwest and East, because actually there are more people killed in clear, dry weather on straight roads. If they told the whole story, you’d find these storms actually save lives.”
“The world truly is coming to an end. I got in and out of (the Motor Vehicle Division) with 20 people in front of me in less than 5 minutes.”
“I just wanted to let my postman know that if he hadn’t have been rude all year, he would have gotten a Christmas present.”
“This to the venter on Dec. 26 with yet another put-down of Iowa, the only kind the Tribune will print, it seems. Iowa does not mean 'idiots out wandering around.’ Iowa is an Indian word meaning 'beautiful land.’ It is truly beautiful.”
