Erin Andrews-Sharer, a graduate of Desert Vista High School, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at the College of Wooster. Andrews-Sharer, a first-year student from Wheaton, achieved a GPA of 3.65 or above. The College of Wooster is located in Wooster, Ohio.

Two students from Ahwatukee Foothills, Sara Epp and Valerie Wildemann, were among 1,371 students named to Biola University’s fall dean’s list for academic excellence.

Local resident and Northern Arizona University student Stephen Koons has earned the W.A. Franke College of Business academic dean’s list.

Nickolas Smith of Ahwatukee Foothills earned a spot on the Loyola Marymount University dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester.

Sara Elizabeth Matsumoto of Ahwatukee Foothills was named to the dean’s list at Washington University in St. Louis for the fall 2011 semester. Matsumoto is a graduate of Tempe Preparatory Academy and is enrolled in the university’s college of arts and sciences.

Aaron Kissman of Ahwatukee Foothills was named to the dean's list at Savannah College of Art and Design for the spring quarter. Full-time undergraduate students who earn a grade point average of 3.5 or above for the quarter receive recognition on the dean's list. Kissman is seeking a bachelor of fine arts degree in photography.

KINGSTON, Jamaica - Hurricane Dean pummeled Jamaica with gusting winds and torrential rains Sunday after the prime minister made a last-minute plea for residents to abandon their homes and head for shelter. Many residents ignored the call, however, while tourists holed up in resorts with hurricane-proof walls.

Curry College’s chief academic officer David Potash announced that Ahwatukee Foothills resident Calvin Bunton attained membership to the Curry College dean’s list for the spring 2012 term. Curry College is located in Milton, Ma.

Two students from Ahwatukee were among 554 students who made the dean’s honor list at California Lutheran University for the fall semester. They are Nicholas Galvin, a sophomore and chemistry major, and Jordan Skinner, a senior who is a theater arts major.

The dean of the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, Robert Mittelstaedt, announced he will retire, effective the spring or summer of next year.
