I was disgusted and offended by Tom Purcell’s article in Friday’s Tribune (Aug. 3).
If you own an older vehicle with a wornout steering column, Flaming River has been there to provide you with a modern replacement with direct-fit wiring harness and the ability to easily mount an aftermarket steering wheel of your choice.
In the Wednesday, January 23 Tribune, the “Inside the NCAA” column on Page B5 should have indicated that UCLA is the only men’s basketball team to beat Washington State this season.
I read State Representative Chad Campbell’s populous, socialist tirade (Campbell: Protect the people, not the banks) that was published Dec. 16. Campbell attempts to thwart any effort to avert a future prolonged housing downturn by advocating that the ability to walk away from a mortgage that a borrower is able to pay, will be the default policy in Arizona, forever.
This week, it came to my attention that a weekly financial advice column that has appeared in the Tribune for several years was being presented in a way that did not accurately disclose the content's origination.
Thank you for taking a peek at East Valley Victories. No, Lace ’em Up has not been abandoned. It will still appear weekly on the recreation page, but under a new name — “Get in the Game” — and in a modified format.

About Will Durst’s mistaken column about gun control and Senator Diane Feinstein’s rants about assault rifles — what does the 2nd Amendment have to do with hunting or target shooting? Nothing. What does it have to do with citizens defending themselves against a government-controlled militia? EVERYTHING! Just ask the successful Viet Cong, the Cambodian Khmer Rouge, the Taliban, and lots of other grassroots insurgencies. The Founding Fathers knew that, and so do a high percentage of US voters.
Your recent guest commentary from Clint Bolick on charter schools ("Charter Schools transforming Arizona’s education landscape") was filled with inaccuracies. I’d like to set the record straight.
It's hard (and hurts) to think that we have to wait another seven months for football to be back in full effect.

Sunday’s guest commentary by Tom Patterson reeked of the same old Republican, right-wing blather. Gov. Brewer finally showed some common sense and vetoed bills that had no business being law. She showed a bit of independent, critical thinking. Maybe she’s not the lock-step-child of Russell Pearce... maybe.
I'd like to comment on Tina Dupuy's Feb. 2 commentary ("Government workers are the new illegal aliens") about her idea of what a job is. She has issues with anyone who says government can't create jobs. She states "to those of us who work for a living, a job is a job."
Once again, as one of your Vent callers verbalized, Austin Hill spews his extremist conjecture (“Americans need a history lesson”, July 7). Folks, go to the internet and look up “critical thinking.” Wednesday’s column violates most of these precepts, which are presented to most college freshmen... and for a reason: to get them thinking in logical order. I’m not sure if Mr. Hill went to college, but his biases have NOT been internalized. It’s a shame; he tries so hard to be an intellectual, but merely intellectualizes. The difference is critical.
We're reminded every day that sports is big business.
NEW YORK - If you've got a problem, yo - Spencer Pratt will solve it. Pratt, who torments Lauren Conrad on "The Hills," is getting his own advice column in Radar magazine.
The Pinnacle baseball team needed this game to stay within striking distance of Chaparral for the 4A Desert Sky Region crown.
THERE IT GOES: McClintock second baseman Adam Foster can’t come down with a high throw as he covers first base on a bunt single by Pinnacle’s Ashton McCoy on Friday.
I’m typing this very quietly. I don’t want my car to know I’m talking to you about it.
The readers of Mike McClellan’s latest piece on the Opinion page should be asking Mike why he has neglected to include some facts that do not support the re-election of progressive candidates. Mike neglected to inform you that the Dow exceeded 14,000 points in September 2007 after the Democrats took control of the House and Senate and handed control of the financial markets to Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. As a result of the expertise of these two and the uncertainty of Obama’s election, investors pulled back and the market swooned.
