Designing a prom dress and tuxedo out of duct tape, recent Desert Ridge High School grads Lara Ford and Cole Sudduth are up for matching $5,000 college scholarships, which includes a grant to their school for an equal amount as well. The scholarship contest is promoted by Duck Tape Brand.
The two recent graduates from Desert Ridge High School have been named the Grand Prize winners of the Duck Tape “Stuck at Prom” scholarship competition.
Two 2012 graduates from Desert Ridge High School are finalists in the national “Stuck at Prom” scholarship competition, which asks participants to design, create and wear original prom attire in return for a grand prize of $5,000 for college.
They couldn’t quite win the whole contest, but Gilbert Classical Academy students Josh Flader and Liz Gazca’s “Hunger Games-” inspired prom dresses did give the pair a second-place finish and $3,000 apiece in the Duck brand “Stuck at Prom” Scholarship Contest.
Four months of work spurred on by collegiate and career dreams have pushed Gilbert Classical Academy students Liz Gazca and Josh Flader to the precipice of $5,000 in scholarship money in a duct-taped themed, nationwide sartorial competition.
