Improvement projects will require closures or lane restrictions along sections of Phoenix-area freeways this weekend (Sept. 26-29), according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time or consider alternate routes while these scheduled restrictions are in place:

Watching Sue Carlisle serve breakfast to training attendees at Infusionsoft in Chandler, one would think she worked there on a daily basis given the way she greets people by name and seems to know their food preferences by heart. But she is a caterer, founder of Straight to the Plate Catering, and for the last seven years she has been bringing food to companies and events all over Arizona.

In response to Sunday’s Vent about loud private airplanes: I am assuming you are near the airport. Before you bought your home, did you investigate anything about the airport? Such as where is it, what the flight patterns are, what the “noise footprint” is, etc.? If you didn’t, you have no basis for complaining. If you did and bought anyway, you still have no basis to complain.

“I know of several people who have contacted the Chandler Municipal Airport regarding noise abatement. At the end of the online form there is a question asking if the resident would like to be contacted regarding the complaint. Needless to say, each person marked the ‘yes’ box, but no contact has ever been made. Is this the way the Airport Operations personnel at Chandler deal with issues?”

Apple will contract out with GT Advanced Technologies to produce sapphire material for Apple products, and the company expects to hire 700 employees in its first year.
