    Management of Bill Johnson’s Big Apple Restaurants, one of Arizona’s most iconic brand names, is being passed to the third generation of the Johnson family. Sherry Cameron, 47, granddaughter of founder Bill Johnson, has been named the new chief executive of the company, taking the reins from her mother, Dena Cameron, the eldest daughter of Bill Johnson. Dena became president of the company after Bill Johnson died in 1966 and led the company for more than 40 years.

When Randy Johnson struck out Mike Cameron on a wicked slider at 7:17 p.m. CDT Tuesday to pass Roger Clemens for second place in major league history, players and coaches in the Diamondbacks’ dugout stood en masse and applauded, the D-Backs threw the ball around the horn and Mark Reynolds tossed it to a batboy for safekeeping.

    The 2012 season began eerily similar to ‘11 and ‘10 for Mountain View: A struggle. The Toros were pushed around by Desert Mountain’s offense during a 49-28 loss to the Wolves in Week 1. Desert Mountain both ran the ball with moderate success and got big plays from the Kyle Allen-Mark Andrews passing duo early on. Mountain View fought back in the middle two quarters but a defensive touchdown sealed the win for Desert Mountain in the fourth quarter.
