Cave Creek Cactus Shadows lost more than just its 16-game win streak Friday night.

Cave Creek Cactus Shadows’ second half comeback was nearly complete, but one errant throw ended the Falcons’ chances.

Jackson Goulder pitched a no-hitter and was only one walk away from a perfect game, while also belting a grand slam as host Cave Creek Cactus Shadows defeated Apache Junction 10-0 in a 4A-I Desert Sky Region game.

Phillip Aholt connected with Kyle Watkins for five touchdowns Friday to lead second-ranked Cave Creek Cactus Shadows to a 53-22 win over visiting Phoenix Washington (5-2, 1-1) in 4A Wells Fargo II action.

Outlook: Don’t show up a minute late for this game or you may miss a couple of scores. Both teams have shown they can score plenty of points.

Outlook: There may be a team that can beat Cactus Shadows. The Falcons haven’t run into one yet.

Outlook: With two of the state’s top quarterbacks under center — Cactus Shadows’ Phillip Aholt and Notre Dame’s Sean Renfree — and two teams not shy about passing, expect plenty of fireworks through the air.

Outlook: This is a dangerous spot for Cactus Shadows. After posting what coach Chad DeGrenier called the biggest victory in program history — a 31-0 victory over 4A-I Pinnacle — the Falcons have to guard against a letdown.

Outlook: Life is great for Cactus Shadows. After stunning Pinnacle two weeks ago, the Falcons buried Cortez 42-6.

Cave Creek Cactus Shadows turned up the steam after halftime, scoring three touchdowns en route to a 28-0 blanking of host Scottsdale Coronado in a 4A nonregion game on Thursday.

When Cactus Shadows assembled for its first volleyball practice, the Falcons set one major goal — win the 4A Division II state championship.
