The Valley sports media has been tripping over itself in lauding the hiring of new Phoenix Suns general manager Ryan McDonough, calling it a turning point and a ray of light for a franchise that has been in a death spiral during these past couple years of the Robert Sarver era.
“The richest American company Apple is going to borrow billions & billions to run the company, probably from themselves because you don’t have to pay taxes on borrowed money. While a venter worries about the homeless defecating and urinating in Mesa. When is congress going to stop these wealthy corporations from defecating and urinating on America.”

On Thursday, the Division I and II baseball state tournaments will move to Spring Training stadiums across the Valley.
Tom Horyza has been chosen as the new boys basketball coach at Notre Dame Prep, athletic director Monica Barrett said in an email.
Back by popular demand, the Harlem Globetrotters will be in the Valley in the beginning of June for their “Summer Skills Clinic,” where they will coach, motivate and entertain kids ages 6 through 12. Kids of all basketball levels are encouraged to participate.

It’s way too early. The National League West is way too talented. Summer in Arizona is way too long.
Recent images of a cruise ship limping back to port after an engine malfunction didn't do the cruise industry any favors heading into the summer vacation season. And cringe-worthy accounts from passengers who had to make do without power or working toilets for five days may have turned some travelers off cruising for good.

It was a lovely sight on a lovely Monday afternoon, and Shane Burcar wanted a picture. The Mesa boys basketball coach stood at the Lenox Hotel near the Boston Marathon finish line at 2:37 p.m., struck by the scene playing out in front of him. Marathon runners of all ages finished the 26.2-mile trek as flags from multiple nations waved in the background. Crowds packed both sides of the street.
