    Phoenix St. Mary’s boys basketball assistant coach Damin Lopez is going back to his alma mater to be an assistant coach at Pepperdine University under new coach Tom Asbury. Lopez played for his father, David Lopez, at Glendale Apollo in the late 1980s and has been an assistant under his father at St. Mary’s since 1996. He’s a 1994 graduate of Pepperdine and played briefly with the Suns and in the CBA.
