  1. article Letter: Is U.S. a bubbling cauldron ready to erupt?

    Monday, March 11, 2013 10:49 am

Is America about to explode, is it a bubbling cauldron about to erupt? How much more deceit, betrayal, outright perjury from elected officials, media, and talking heads can be tolerated before the insanity becomes the catalyst for an event no one wants? At some point the enemy within shall be checked!

  • article Letter: Considering gun debate, is Obama pardon hypocritical?

    Tuesday, March 5, 2013 6:09 pm

Of the seventeen pardons recently granted by President Obama for various crimes, one was to a person convicted of illegal possession of an unregistered firearm. So much for gun laws.

  • article Ting: The Republican war against scientific methodology

    Wednesday, November 14, 2012 8:11 am

A lot of Republicans seemed genuinely surprised that they lost, that Mitt Romney was defeated by President Obama, and that Republicans lost seats in both the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives. They actually thought they were going to win!

  • article The Vent: Nov. 9 2012

    Friday, November 9, 2012 8:02 am

“May I be so brash as to query: When does the ‘media’ have the authority to ‘call’ an election? The votes aren’t officially counted and the media is naming the president. Not only is this Chicago politics as usual, maybe there’s a south-of-the-border train of thought as well.”

  • article Letter: Obama had his chance, let’s have some change

    Thursday, November 1, 2012 7:01 am

I did not vote for Barack Obama, but he is my president.

  • article The Vent: Oct. 19

    Friday, October 19, 2012 8:31 am

“I am sure most Democrats don’t understand the comment about how Carmona should protect women by snubbing Clinton. They either weren’t alive in the 90’s or aren’t smart enough to realize the man’s actions have proven time and again what he really thinks of the role of women. Their continuing support of him tells me everything I need to know about the Democratic party. That is why I left the party to become an independent.”

  • article The Vent: Oct. 14

    Sunday, October 14, 2012 7:31 am

“By publishing the liberal ravings of a retired English teacher who supports his assertions with bogus data from liberal rags barely one week apart, advocating the reelection of Barack Hussein Obama and gun control, I must conclude that the EV Tribune supports socialism and a defenseless citizenry. For his information, it is already illegal to transport firearms across the border into Mexico, except for the Feds. Governor Jan Brewer and other Arizona politicians are not afraid of the NRA, they are implementing the wishes of the citizens of Arizona.”

  • article First Obama-Romney debate sets up high-risk theater

    Wednesday, October 3, 2012 12:57 pm

DENVER — President Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney come face to face for the first time in this presidential campaign Wednesday night for a nationally televised debate that will give millions of Americans a chance to size up two fierce competitors in a moment of high-risk theater.

  • article Letter: Another Carter in the White House

    Thursday, September 13, 2012 3:29 pm

Looks like we have another Jimmy Carter President in the White House. Barack Hussein Obama has been kissing up to the Muslim world since he became president. Could it be from his Muslim childhood in Indonesia? He hardly had a “Yankee Doodle Dandy” childhood. His parents met at a Russian language class in the 1960s at the University of Hawaii (now who studied Russian back in those days, Marxists maybe?). On one of his first overseas trips as president he meets the King of Saudi Arabia (Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques) and gives him a full bow from the waist. No other president has bowed down to any head of state in our history. Then Obama apologizes to the Muslim world for America’s past “transgressions” at the University of Cairo. Yes, Cairo, where our U.S. Embassy was overrun. What does the Obama Administration do? It issues another “apology.” “The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts of misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims...”

  • article Phoenix as political convention site? Comes down to Ariz. politics

    Saturday, September 8, 2012 3:45 pm

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – As a delegate to the Democratic National Convention, Mayor Greg Stanton can imagine Phoenix playing host to a 2016 convention. And he doesn’t particularly care which one.

  • article Letter: Voting Romney bad for middle class

    Friday, September 7, 2012 8:31 pm

Mitt Romney would like the middle class to vote for him but, looking at his record, this would be a disaster for the middle class and all of America.

  • article The Vent: Aug 28, 2012

    Wednesday, August 29, 2012 7:04 am

“Don’t you sometime wonder where people’s hearts are? We have an epidemic of homeless Vietnam war veterans and now Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans too. Many carry physical and psychological wounds they suffered in defense of our country. That’s why you have to wonder how people can donate to homeless dog, cats and horse shelters, while these veterans are left to fend for themselves on the street.”

  • article New geek chic: NASA 'Mohawk Guy' in, pocket protectors out

    Tuesday, August 14, 2012 8:48 pm

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — Known to the Twitterverse and the president of the United States as "Mohawk Guy" of the Mars mission, Bobak Ferdowsi could be the changing public face of NASA and all of geekdom.

  • article Letter: Do arpaio signs break political rules?

    Thursday, August 9, 2012 7:17 am

So Sheriff Joe is offering a reward (Aug. 5 Tribune) to catch whomever is vandalizing his “Elect Arpaio” signs he placed everywhere on taxpayer-owned public right-of-way. Who’s responsible for fining Joe for violating state laws ARS 9-500.14 and ARS 15-511, which forbid ALL electioneering on government-controlled property? One law forbids all election signs on city-controlled easement, where most of his signs are. The second with a per sign fine, forbids such signs on school district-owned easement, where politicians love to put their sign graffiti. Doesn’t anyone care about the annual sign mess?

  • article The Vent: July 6

    Friday, July 6, 2012 5:59 am

“Adios, Steve Nash. You are a fine basketball player, and we wish you had left it at that. But your being from a foreign nation, yet lecturing the good people of Arizona from your protected, ivory tower, padded life, on how we should tolerate and live with the invasion of illegals across our borders has been too much. We wish you luck in Los Angeles, and hope you will enjoy the more diverse and supportive fan base it has to offer.”

  • article The Vent: July 1

    Sunday, July 1, 2012 7:51 am

“Steve Nash, don’t leave Phoenix! Please! New York is not a tax-friendly state and Toronto isn’t even in the United States! Yeah, I know you’re originally Canadian, but we can’t afford to lose you! Please stay with the Suns!”

  • article The Vent: June 15

    Friday, June 15, 2012 7:07 am

“I’m alarmed at the number of people killed on city streets. Is it possible some think airbags are a substitute for seatbelts? Most police say they never find a dead person wearing a seatbelt. Parents — if you’re smart you’ll set an example by always buckling up and insisting your children do the same.”

  • article Letter: 'Left' should shed their hypocritical mantle

    Wednesday, June 6, 2012 5:57 am

Whining from the Left regarding Mitt Romney’s silence to the sounds of renewed birther cries are hilarious and hypocritical. Romney is not the least bit responsible for the views of Donald Trump and would be foolish to jump into the fray of this non-issue.

  • article Temporary fiscal solutions now won’t fix the economy later

    Saturday, May 5, 2012 10:14 am

Here we go again. In 2010, desperate Americans returned control of the U.S. House back to Republicans hoping that they would do the heavy lifting necessary to avoid our looming fiscal meltdown.

  • article The Vent: April 27

    Friday, April 27, 2012 10:14 am

“Dick Cheney back to his old self trying to instill fear with his unmitigated disaster speech. However he does show some backbone doing it from a disclosed location. His new heart must have come from a Democrat.”

  • article Stamper Brown: Dumbing down the American dream

    Thursday, April 26, 2012 9:29 am

Young Americans received unwelcome news this week when an April 23 AP report found 53.6 percent of college graduates under the age of 25 are jobless or underemployed, and there is little hope for improvement in the near future. This news is grim for young Americans as well as an administration in reelection mode.

  • article The Vent: April 25

    Wednesday, April 25, 2012 10:12 am

“According to Rep. Terri Proud, R-Tucson, poor women who are without money and are pregnant, better not expect help from any religious group. More than likely she is against Planned Parenthood too. Wake up Terri, you are losing the votes from women.”

  • article The Vent: April 13

    Friday, April 13, 2012 10:01 am

“As a seasonal visitor, who invested in Arizona real estate, pays money in sales tax for six months and high prices for food, I think I have a right to live here part time. Sorry there are full times residents that don’t appreciate the financial support! I think the stores and restaurants wouldn’t agree!”

  • article The Vent: April 8

    Sunday, April 8, 2012 12:07 pm

“Now that Mr. Pat has explained the Taliban, perhaps he would tell us why candidate Santorum constantly tells us about former President Reagan? Personally, I think he was too young to remember the ‘wonderful changes’ he made while president. Number one, he immediately fired all the air traffic controllers. Why? Because they were unionized. In my estimation, unions are necessary evils. And what about the law he passed called Fair Reporting? One could say or write about someone you didn’t like without punishment. That law helped the Fox stations.”
